A Quiet Hello

Hi, Im Chloé Duncan, and I’m a Scottish watercolor artist living in the warm, wild landscapes of southern Utah. I paint mostly animals, foxes, owls, crows, and hares -often in quiet or solitary moments. My work leans toward the soft and the story-filled, with minimal backgrounds and gentle, moody tones. I’m drawn to pieces that feel a little mysterious, a little wild, and a little like memory.

Much of my inspiration comes from the contrast between the lush green woodlands I grew up around, and the dry, golden deserts I live in now. I’m also endlessly inspired by folklore, stillness, and subtle emotion. You’ll find wild animals, rustic foliage, and whimsical musings.

This blog will be a place for thoughts, behind-the-scenes moments, half-finished ideas, inspiration and maybe some garden updates (because I love my plants and I plant for the birds and bees!) I wish I had started this years ago, but maybe now is just the right time.

This is only the beginning, and I’d truly love to hear from you. You can always write to me through the contact page, or join me over on Instagram, where I share process shots, peaceful corners of my garden, and the little creatures who live in my paintings.
